This article is the biography of Mark Zuckerberg.
Facebook has united the world into a single platform irrespective of countries, religions and languages.
To understand the size of Facebook, you need to know that the numbers of users in Facebook are more than the whole population of the world’s most populous country, China.

It could be the biggest country in the world-

If Facebook is considered as a country, then Facebook would be the biggest country in the world in terms of population.
Facebook was born as a small website in a hostel room and now it is the world’s biggest social networking site.
Facebook was established by Mark Zuckerberg. His hard work has made him one of the richest people on earth at a very young age.

Introduction-

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984 in White Plains, New York, U.S. His parents were Karen and Edward Zuckerberg; both of them were psychiatrist and dentist respectively.
His father Edward noticed that little Mark Zuckerberg had interest in computer programming, so he shared his knowledge of Atari, a basic programming with Mark Zuckerberg.
His father also used to teach his son primary education.

Beating his tutor in programming-

Later, he appointed David Newman, as a tutor to teach Mark Zuckerberg programming privately. But within a few days, Mark Zuckerberg became so knowledgeable in programming that he used to beat his tutor in the speed with which programming was written.
He used to invest all his leisure time on programming. This helped him to develop messaging software by name ZuckNet at the age of 12, which had similar functionality as the current day’s Facebook Messenger.
He used ZuckNet to send messages to and fro from his house to his father’s clinic. Also, this software was employed by his father in his clinic to welcome and give messages to new patients.
At this small age many kids play computer games, but Mark Zuckerberg at this small age developed computer games and new computer programs.

Developing an intelligent media player at a small age-

During his high school days, he developed a media player by name Synapse.
Synapse is an intelligent music player, which automatically sorts out the MP3 files based on the interests of its users.
AOL and Microsoft bought this media player and offered a job to Mark Zuckerberg, even though he had not completed his graduation. But Mark Zuckerberg politely rejected their job offer.

Hacking the database of Havard-

After which he joined Harvard University, where in the year 2003, he hacked the database of the Harvard University to get access to the passport sized photos of the students by which he created an unique website by name FaceMash.
Because he believed that it’s okay to break things to make them better.
In FaceMash, Mark Zuckerberg used to conduct polling by comparing the photos of the Harvard students.
This website was a huge hit and spread like a wildfire to the entire university.  This resulted in a heavy traffic flow to the server, as a result the server crashed.
But as this was beauty related polling, some students did not like this concept.
So, they complained to the authorities. And finally Mark Zuckerberg was warned and the FaceMash was closed because Mark Zuckerberg used the images of students without their consent.
He was blamed for hacking, but Mark Zuckerberg accepted his mistake and publicly apologised for his fault.
The University authorities were shocked to know that a young college student has hacked their website.
But FaceMash gave him a new idea of creating a new website by which students can share their photos, interests and information with their friends.

The birth of Facebook-

He toiled very hard continuously for many days to develop the website. When most of his friends were partying, he used to work on his computer.
At first, this website was available only for the students of the Harvard University, but then after seeing its popularity; the website was made available to numerous students from other American universities.
Mark Zuckerberg wished to develop more the social networking website.
So, on 4th February 2004, he registered the domain name.
And in the year 2005 the Facebook was launched for all American universities.
He was helped by his friend Eduardo Saverin with financial support for his project.

Dropping out of college-

Mark Zuckerberg wished to develop the Facebook even more but was not able to do so because of the lack of time.
So, he dropped out of the Harvard University to invest his whole time in developing the Facebook.
He dropped out of the college confidently because unlike regular students, who study to get a job, he had no interest in doing a job for others; he wanted to work for his own dreams by establishing his own company.
After noticing the achievements of Mark Zuckerberg and his company, Harvard University presented him with degree in the year 2005.
After some time, he renamed The Facebook to Facebook, eliminating the word- The.
Facebook was born on 4th of February in the year 2004. Later, Facebook was made available to the general public.
At the end of the year 2004, nearly 100,000 people joined Facebook.

Controversy-

But within a few days, Facebook was in deep trouble. Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra went to court alleging that Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea of Facebook from them.
After a few days, the case was settled when Mark Zuckerberg handed them money and shares in Facebook worth 45 million dollars.
In the next year, the number of Facebook users grew rapidly to 50 lakhs because everyone liked the idea of chatting with their friends online.
By seeing the popularity of Facebook many companies like yahoo and MTV thought of buying the Facebook.

Yahoo even offered 900 million dollars for Facebook when Facebook got traffic of 50 million users, but Mark Zuckerberg did not sell his website.
In the year 2006, Mark Zuckerberg moved to Palo Alto California to start his own office in a leased house.

Adding new interesting features-
